Here's Takahiro after his bath this past saturday night.
He was so happy! Even his hair looked happy.
Finally!!! I captured a smile!
After his bath I dressed him up since we were going out to eat dinner. Check out the sneakers! This was the first time he wore shoes.
Today on my break at work I walked into the baby room to find Takahiro in the exer-saucer!!

I was really surprised.
I had to run get my camera. As you can see he needs a blanket for extra support! But he was able to hold himself up (with the help of the blanket).

When I sat down in front of him to say hello, he had the hugest grin on his face and looked pretty darn proud of himself!

First day of school

Theo had his first day of school (daycare) yesterday! I brought him to visit a few days before starting to help get him used to his teachers, room and new little friends.

I had a much harder time w/ his first day than he did. Although I am just right accross the hall it was hard to drop him off that first day.

I am able to come and visit him on my lunch and 2 other 15 min. breaks.

He is lucky to have 3 wonderful and loving women; Kate, Kazuko and Beatrice to take care of him!
 

I had to take pictures of Theo wearing this outfit because it was one of the first things I bought when I was pregnant after finding out Theo was going to be a boy.

Here is playing w/ the fuzzy bear that aunt Catherine gave him. He loves to grab the fur! It has been a major incentive for him to learn to grasp things.

The is one of the intensely green rice fields that is in front of the house.


One of the things I love about summer in Japan is the sound of buzzing cicadas. Theo and I started to feel drowsy listening to them while sitting out in the garden.

Chicura

We escaped the heat of Tokyo and went to Chicura a small seaside town on the south eastern coast of the Chiba prefecture.




We had expected Japan to be hotter than Seattle but it wasn't due to the delay of the end of the rainy season in southern Japan.

Great Grandma- Hii Obaachan

Theo-Takahiro meets his great-grandmother and practices his smiles.


 

We went to eat at Mossburger's. It is tasty burger joint. There were some small children playing. Theo thought they wer quite noisy and woke up from his nap.

Okasan soothed him and his crankiness disappeared. 

Theo was pretty content on the plane ride. He only had a cranky moment when I put him in the bassinet before he was in a deep sleep.


Later when I put him in he was fine.

He was happy just to sit warm and cozy in one of our laps.

 

Plane Ride

Theo was pretty relaxed the whole plane ride. He was pretty happy if he was held. He was a little cranky when I put him the basinet but I tried again later when he was good and sleepy and he did just fine.
